Distinction in my CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Marketing

Anyone who has me on LinkedIn will have probably seen that last week I received my CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) Level 3 Foundation Certificate Marketing results with an overall Distinction grade! Over the moon is an understatement!

I enrolled on to the course in September 2016 with The Manchester College. The course took place once a week for three hours, it was a night time course so it was quite tough having to come straight from an 8.5-hour day at work to a 3-hour night school class but I soon got in to the routine.

The course was split in to two units: one was a multiple-choice example covering marketing principles, the other was completely coursework based covering customer communications. The marketing principles unit took place September to December with an exam just before Christmas. We picked up the customer communications unit within the first weeks of the new year, with the final deadline for submission at the end of March.

Not going to lie, it was hard. Juggling a full-time job with education is challenging! Especially when it comes to finding the time to study, keep a social life, stay healthy and fit and maintain on top of your work load.

BUT it is not all doom and gloom... yes you tackle many late nights fitting in as much revision as possible, mental breakdowns and moments where you consider leaving all the stress behind and booking the next flight to New Zealand but challenging work does pay off! I was over the moon with my distinction results and I am motivated to keep challenging myself and giving the Level 4 CIM Professional Marketing course a go as it is a great qualification to have.
