Alton Towers Scare Fest 2014

'Alton Towers, is a theme park, waterpark, and hotel complex in the county of Staffordshire, United Kingdom' and has to be one of the best theme parks in the UK. Renowned for it's adrenaline packed rides, friendly atmosphere and festivity when it comes to yearly events such as Christmas, halloween and bonfire night it is surely an appeal to all ages.

I've visited Alton Towers before and ridden a majority of the rollarcoasters  rating my favourite as the new 'Smiler' closely followed by 'Thirteen'. However, visiting during this years scare fest was a totally different experience as we were given the chance to go on the rides in the dark as well as participate in the spooky Halloween atmosphere in the zombie scare zone - it was amazing. A clear sense of all the effort gone in to the preparation prior to the event was without a doubt noticeable as everywhere was decorated with halloween themed decorations, and within minutes of entering the themepark visitors are bombarded by a playlist consisting of Micheal Jacksons 'Thriller' and A Track's 'Heads will roll'.

 The only unfavourable aspects to Alton Towers are the over priced merch and food- recommend taking your own butties otherwise you will be charged £8 for a toastie. Despite this small concern, Alton Towers was a fabulous day out and was well worth the money, we managed to enjoy every ride and stay until 9pm, giving us a chance to get in the Halloween festivity spirit.
