1. Nissan Royal Baby Print Advertisement
I found this advertisement effective as it is combining a popular news headline with the product and unique selling point of a 'roomy' vehicle the company wish to promote. Here we are witnessing Nissan attempt to get involved with the trending Twitter topics and start a conversation with potential customers.
2. Always 'Like a Girl' Campaign
This campaign was set up by the sanitary product organisation 'Always'. The organisation are using various platforms of advertisement to promte the female gender as strong, brave and independent.
In the video advert I watched various male and female members of the public are asked to perform actions such as to 'run like a girl' or 'throw like a girl'- the responce was domeneeringly shocking, sterotypical and insulting to the female gender.
Always quoted: "We're kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing".
I find this campaign moving and inspirational as it is tackling a present problem in socitey today which most females have found themselves a victim of. To view the Always 'Like a Girl' video campaign, click here.
3. Ben and Jerrys Marmite Ice Cream
Marmite.. do you love it or hate it? Ben and Jerrys creatively caused controversy with this online campaign, mixing sweet and savory in their marmite flavoured ice cream. Additionally, the brand promote their Twitter popularity with the hashtag #MyBenAndJerrys, encouraging people to talk about this toipic and to cause a potential trend. In my opinion taking risks like this unique ice cream flavour is always worth it in advertisement campaigns, people like strange.
4. T- Mobile Royal Wedding Advert
The public love funny. Humour in advertisements get's people talking and this is the overall aim. The T- Mobile Royal Wedding advert does just this as we witness a 'parody' of the Royal Wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William. Various actors who look identical to the members of the Royal Family dance down a church to East 17 providing a spot on example of 'embarrassing dad dancing'. The humour in this advert along with the topic being of current news trend causes people to talk about the advert; reaching potential customers.
T-Mobile quoted: "T-Mobile's Royal Wedding Dance celebrates the marriage of William and Kate with the help of a host of royal look alikes and music from East 17! T-Mobile wishes William and Kate a long and happy marriage."
