Content
The content posted on a social media site can have a direct impact on the business growth as well as the social success in terms of followers and likes. For example, if a business was to post constant content that was miss spelt and came across as spam Google could see this as a threat and limited users would be attracted to your site.
In terms of personal social media pages I was always told to keep my personal accounts on 'private', this is an important action for me to carry out due to the area of industry I have entered. We often post things on Facebook without considering who has access to seeing this which is a risky move. For example, imagine attending a job interview and being questioned on a tweet posted the previous weekend confessing how rough you felt after partying too hard the night before? Not the best first impressions!
Audience
Additionally, it is so important to consider your audience- I can’t even highlight that enough. If you are promoting a social media page for a client consider what topics you are blogging about. For example, if your client is a garden nursery write about garden related topics such as ‘top tips for winter gardens’, don’t write about ’10 great recipes to try with chicken’ – you are basically asking your customers to leave.
For those with personal accounts, although the majority of your friends and followers will be people you know they really don’t care about how cute your boyfriend looks sleeping or how good your lunch was yesterday. Tweeting is fun but some people take it too far out of context.
