Today was the first day back at college after the Christmas holidays and I am now aware of what our grandparents mean when they talk about the 'winter blues'. Everyone seems to have post-Christmas depression detected through lack of enthusiasm, Christmas decorations slowly dissolving and minimal contact with the outside world.
January seems to be the month where people stay in doors on a Friday night as reality verges in as people can no longer avoid the haunting thought of the money blown over the festive season.
I've already started counting down the days till next Christmas... only 353 days remaining,I'm now considering getting early Christmas presents sorted from the Boots half price clearance sale. Although it feels like forever away I'm sure it will come around just as quick as the last one, I can already tell this year is going to go so fast- to think we are already five days in to the new year is mad!
College have placed 'mock exam week' three weeks in to January, this just adds more to the term winter blues! Exams, cold weather and a lot of brews seems to be on the cards for this month. Bring on summer is all I can say.
