This is my first 'beauty based' blog post as to what are my twelve essential beauty products when it comes to achieving my ideal day or night makeup look.

When the cold weather hits it is easy for skin to become irritable and dry, this is why I find it important to keep skin hydrated. To prevent this happening I have recently purchased Garniers 'Good bye dry' moisture match cream for £3.99 from Superdrug and have so far been impressed, already noticing an improvement in my skin condition. I also keep soap and glory 'hand food' (off my lovely secret santa Keri) with me all the time, as I find the fruity smelling cream keeps hands nourished and smelling pleasant all day. When it comes to my nails I find Rimmels 'Salon Pro' a long lasting wearable polish in a variety of colours, a great product to which can last days without chipping.

For everyday use I apply Rimmels BB cream in shade light as I find it  not only moisturises the face, but provides a bit of colour, great coverage and a radiant glow allowing a skin 'pick me up'. When I find myself short of time The Body Shops 'Extra virgin minerals' is a life saver. In terms of this powder foundation less is more, creating a natural coverage as well as mattifying any unwanted shine, when going out for the night I use this over the top of my foundation to provide a full coverage and colour. After reading various reviews on MAC products I felt obliged to try them out. The MAC studio sculpt foundation is well worth the money, it has a long lasting wear and is not needed in large quantity to achieve a full coverage. Furthermore the foundation can be wore alone without concealer or powder giving the perfect colour and coverage for a night out- without your face feeling cakey. MAC studio finish concealer is just as good in terms of wear and coverage, however it is similar to past concealers just twice as much in money and branded.

When it comes to natural everyday eyes I tend to curl my lashes and apply a few coats of benefit 'they're real!' mascara as this extends lashes and keeps them the desired jet black colour and curled shape intended. For a more 'dressy' going out look I will apply my 'NAKED 2' eye pallet- an absolute must. The twelve colour selection guarantees to suit every look from natural to over the top (my personal favourite shades being 'verve' and 'pistol'). To top off my eyes on a night out I usually apply Eyelur lashes, I love no 101 for a natural yet filling lash look.

Lastly, probably the most essential product in my make up bag is my nivea pearly shine lip balm. This product not only nourishes the lips, but also provides a glossy pink natural colour- perfect for everyday use.
